Awards shows are known to provoke some hot takes on Twitter, and this year’s hybrid virtual Grammy Awards is no exception.
Hosted by Trevor Noah at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Staples Center, the ceremony finally aired after the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic pushed its initial scheduled date from January 31 to March 14.

Noah acknowledged the hardships of the past year in his opening monologue. “I’ll be your host tonight as we celebrate the last 10 years of music that got us through the last 10 years of coronavirus,” he said. “I know it’s been one year, but it feels like 10.”
Despite the ceremony’s COVID-19 limitations, the night still pulled off some impressive performances (Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, and Silk Sonic, to name a few). With a heavy-hitting nominee list (including Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, Megan Thee Stallion, Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, and more) and some eyebrow-raising snubs (The Weeknd, anybody?), Twitter was quick to hop on the commentary.
Some of the best tweets of the night, ahead.
