Zoë Kravitz is opening up about her dynamic relationship with her rumored beau, Channing Tatum.

Kravitz first met Tatum after the casting process of her forthcoming directorial debut, Pussy Island, which she also co-wrote with E.T. Feigenbaum. In a new cover story for ELLE, Kravitz recalled thinking that the 21 Jump Street actor would be “brave enough” to star as one of the film’s main characters, a tech billionaire named Slater King.

“Looking at his work and hearing him speak about Magic Mike and the live show, I’m like, I think he’s a feminist. You need to be so far from who this is, where it’s not scary,” Kravitz told the magazine. “And I don’t think we’ve ever seen him play someone dark. I’m excited to see him do that.”

The two first ignited dating rumors in January 2021 following Kravitz’s divorce from ex-husband Karl Glusman, though a source claimed at the time that they weren’t romantically involved. Then, over the summer, they were spotted making cozy appearances in New York City together.

When asked about the paparazzi photos of her and Tatum, Kravitz replied simply, “I’m happy.”

Meanwhile, Steven Soderbergh, who directed Tatum in Magic Mike, told ELLE, “I’m assuming they’re going to have fun, but if you’re in any sort of a couple and you go into an endeavor like this, all bets are off.”

Kravitz also opened up about her feelings toward Glusman following their separation (they married in 2019 and split by early 2021).

“Karl’s an incredible human being,” she said of her ex. “It really is less about him and more about me learning how to ask myself questions about who I am and still learning who I am, and that being okay. That’s the journey I’m on right now.”
