Whether you're a seasoned junkie or a newbie to the scene, it can't hurt to get a few tips on proper music festival behavior. With Coachella right around the corner, it's time to brush up on your concert decorum.

Here, the hottest performers and headliners of the summer share their tips on how to have the most fun at this year's festivals. And just because they're on the other side of the stage, that doesn't mean they don't know what they're talking about. Do: Lose yourself for a little while. From new discoveries to rediscoveries, going off on your own for a bit can lead to some of the best festival adventures. Don't: Kick mud in people's eyes! Festival mud is a glorious and sacred thing to be celebrated. Cover your mates in it, head to toe, just leave the eyes, man. Do: Explore! Music festivals are a really great way to get to know new bands. Go and wander off and see something that just sounds nice or fun or weird, you might find your new favorite band. Do: Pay whatever outrageous fee the vendors are charging for bottled water. It's worth it to keep the clean hydration flowing. Don't: Go barefoot. People drop all kinds of things on the ground...I like feeling free as much as the next guy, but no one wants to leave the festival grounds before the headliner's set to get an emergency tetanus shot!
