A Fashionable Life: Inside The Luscious, Elegant Manila Home Of Dr Aivee Teo And Dr Z Teo
Step into a Neoclassical French-styled home that speaks of family devotion and the owner’s design sensibility.
Drs Aivee and Z Teo are lounging in front of their newly acquired pool table, which had arrived just ahead of their photoshoot with Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore. At their feet, resting contentedly, is their dog Sydney, an adorable Australian Shepherd, who is oblivious to the bustle. During a pause at the shoot, Dr Aivee, clad in a snake-print Zimmermann frock, turns to Dr. Z and smoothes out the lapel of his plush Saint Laurent suit. He immediately beams at her, and the moment, intimate and spontaneous, is quickly snapped by the photographer.
There are murmurs of approval and delight. After all, it’s a clear picture of how the husband and wife duo behind the Aivee Clinic approach work, life and style.

Coming Home
The Molteni&C modular sofa and a pair of Barcelona chairs add a modern contrast to their light-filled Neoclassical living room.
Warm and cosy aren’t the typical words used to describe the houses found in the gated community where the Teos live. But warm and cosy is indeed the feeling one gets stepping into their home, an elegant, French Neoclassical house designed by architect William Cosculluela of WV Cosculluela & Associates.
Built in the 1980s, the house features many hallmarks of the style, including full-height French doors that wrap much of the ground floor, picture-frame moulding, a rotunda staircase, and ornate crystal chandeliers. Outside, is a spacious and tranquil garden filled with a variety of local flora and old native trees.
The staircase lounge features pieces from Fendi Casa, Ricco Ocampo, and B&B Italia.
Inside the house, the vibe is relaxed, with their children padding around barefoot and the very well-behaved dogs having their run of the place. The furniture, a mixture of modern showstoppers and vintage hardwood cabinets and chairs, combined with the couple’s extensive collection of contemporary art that includes works from Elmer Borlongan, Ronald Ventura, Jigger Cruz, and John Santos III, make it characteristically their own.
“We want it to feel like it’s really a home versus a showroom,” says Dr Aivee. “I want guests to feel at home.”
The house is different from the one they have in Singapore, which they describe as “very modern,” much like their first home in Manila.
“When we saw this, it changed our perspectives. It felt different. They don’t build houses like this anymore,” says Dr Aivee.
“It’s so unique,” echoes Dr Z, “And I think that changed our design feel as well.”
The property’s expansive greenery was also a big plus. According to architect Geewel Fuster, it was inspired by the verdant landscapes of Singapore with its layers of carefully selected palms and tropical plants, and anchored by a blue water pool with a cascading waterfall; it provides a lush, natural contrast to the formality of the house.
Dr Aivee is effusive about her backyard. “We’ve always wanted a big garden because in our first home we didn’t have a big one. And now our kids are growing up and they like to entertain their friends [here]!”

A Jetset Life
The power couple, who recently celebrated The Aivee Clinic’s 17th anniversary by launching Aivee Star, the latest addition to their luxury dermatology and aesthetic empire, have lived a jetset life since they got married, flying back and forth between Manila and Singapore, and wherever else their work leads them.
Dr Aivee lounges on an Eda-Mame sofa with her dog surrounded by pieces from her shoe collection.
Of the two, Dr Aivee is the one almost always in the spotlight, thanks to The Aivee Clinic’s popular social media presence. The board-certified dermatologist often appears bright and cheerful in her social media video posts, bubbly, sweet and fast-talking. She takes care of the beauty concerns of some of the Philippines most beautiful faces, including Heart Evangelista, Nadine Lustre, acclaimed actress Charo Santos-Concio, and digital phenom Bretman Rock.
Along with Dr Z, a Singaporean cosmetic surgeon, the duo oversees everything in the Aivee Group, which now counts eight clinics in the Philippines and one in Singapore.
“I think we’re a very modern couple, a modern family,” says Dr Aivee. “We’re citizens of the world. We like to travel because of our work.” Their work in the world of beauty, symmetry and visual harmony, as well as their devotion to their family, inform much of their style, not only in their clothes, but also in their house.

A Few of Their Favourite Things
The couple frequently collaborates with architect Geewel Fuster to update their space. “She has been helping us bring some pieces that we feel fit the whole vibe of the house,” says Dr Aivee.
Fuster’s fellow architect husband, Ian Fuster of Fuster Architectural Studio, helped the couple retain the Old World feel of their house, while modernising it to fit their family.
“The Teos have a distinctly fashionable sensibility, and what makes their home so compelling is the way they have translated that personality into the space, without compromising its original architecture,” says Fuster, who describes the interiors as “timeless, fashionable and playful, filled with unexpected furniture, bold personalities and art that feel collected rather than prescribed.”
Classic and contemporary styles easily define every nook and cranny in the house.
Some notable highlights in the wholly intentional mix include a classic Molteni&C modular sofa system, Barcelona chairs in the main living space (where the couple often entertain guests, thanks to its excellent acoustics), two Fendi Casa Kelly bracelet armchairs in an art deco print, a white Eda-Mame sofa from B&B Italia, and a Ricco Ocampo alligator chair with capiz inlay in the staircase lounge.
Brothers Kenzo and KenZ join dad for a walk in their verdant garden.
Their three children, KenZ, Kenzo and Keli, had a huge role in how the couple shaped their house over the years. Not only do they have free reign with their rooms, but also in certain items, such as the pool table, which was brought in for a very simple reason: “So we can keep them [our kids] in!” says Dr Z with a laugh, explaining that their now teenage kids have a lot of friends that they want to come over.
“We prefer to keep them here, enjoy the home, and bring their friends here,” explains Dr Aivee.
In the kitchen is a cosy breakfast nook where the family likes to eat together, as well as two dedicated fridges for drinks (”You know, like in 7-Eleven?”) and cakes (often gifted to Dr Aivee).
Keli Teo joins her mother for a ride. Dr Aivee wears a Love Marie Edit sautoir necklace.
For Fuster, what really brings together the melange of styles—the classic French architecture, contemporary designs, and surprising pieces—are the Teos themselves. “It mirrors the Teos themselves: serious about what they do, but never afraid to have fun with how they live.”

A Work in Progress
The couple share a private moment. Dr Aivee Teo wears her own Zimmermann dress and a Love Marie Edit necklace.
“Our philosophy in beauty is: don’t change completely,” says Dr Z. Dr Aivee agrees. “It’s very natural—gradual.”
And when it comes to trends, they are equally thoughtful before jumping right in, preferring to research first. Dr Z gives an example of how they decide which innovations they choose to adapt in their own clinic.
“One of the treatments that we are pretty much known for is, of course, doing a lot of ground-breaking bio-stimulators or bio-regeneration treatments,” he explains. “So treatments like Sculptra are what we do a lot of because it’s helping the body and helping the face to produce collagen naturally not just replacing and rebuilding it. The results are a long-term improvement in skin radiance and a lifted and youthful appearance.”
The dermal filler treatment is usually spaced out over several weeks, with the results becoming more evident over time. Similar to how they approached building their house, the Teos prefer to make little tweaks to achieve balance, symmetry, and ultimately, the best version of oneself.
“I have watched how the Teos have lived, refined, and added to the home,” says Fuster of the couple. “It has become a story not only of a beautifully preserved French Neoclassical house, but also of the people who continue to give it character.”
“We didn’t pressure ourselves to change everything. We did it gradually,” says Dr Aivee of their process. “We wanted to enjoy the house first and see how we feel about it. And then change it as we went along.”
