Amal Clooney Is Still Inspiring Us To Get Dressed For The Office

Dressing for the office can be a drab, sullen affair—especially after getting a taste of the work-from-home (and in your sweats) life. As so many struggle to find style inspiration, Amal Clooney is breathing new life into the nine-to-five.

Today, the human rights lawyer was photographed walking about New York City in between meetings, where she cut a stylish figure in a minimalistic and monochrome look, wearing a sleek ivory trench coat over a boxy shift dress in the same shade. Accessories, including a black handbag, croc-embossed heels, studded earrings, and an oversized pair of tinted sunglasses, provided contrasting accents to her otherwise airy look.

Clooney was recently named as one of 12 extraordinary women working toward equality by TIME.

"With everything going on today, I want to have a good answer when they ask me what I was doing," she told the outlet last month. "You have to have dogged determination, and you can't let go because the stakes are so high. You're coming up against people whose power and existence depends on them continuing to commit serious abuses, and so they're not going to give up. So we definitely can't give up on our side."

She added that, while her work in civil rights fulfills her, spending time with her four-year-old twins and husband, actor George Clooney, keeps her grounded.

"Marriage has been wonderful," she continued. "I have in my husband a partner who is incredibly inspirational and supportive, and we have a home filled with love and laughter. It is a joy beyond anything I could ever have imagined. I feel so lucky to have found a great love in my life, and to be a mother—this is how I get my balance."
