In the lead up to International Women's Day, Apple Orchard Road will be hosting eight days of empowering sessions in conjunction with its Women's Week series. Helming these inspiring get-togethers are modern women at the forefront of their fields who will be sharing not only stories of success and struggle but key processes and tips on how to do what they do—think songwriting, illustrating, coding and photography, all with the help of the iPad Pro.
Music Lab: Writing Original Lyrics with MAS1A
Friday, 2 March, 7:00 pm–8:30 pm
Celebrating Women’s Week at Apple Orchard Road, join MAS1A, empress of hip-hop and dancehall, and explore writing lyrics that express raw emotion using iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. She’ll share her creative journey and collaborations with Dr. Dre, Pharrell Williams, RZA, and more. Then she’ll perform a few songs from her new album.
Live Art: Drawing Mythical Creatures with Sandara Tang
Sunday, 4 March, 4:00pm–6:00pm
In this session illustrator Sandara Tang will take you into her enchanting fantasy world of mythical heroines and creatures. She’ll show you drawing techniques for transforming an idea into a fantasy creature. Get hands-on sketching characters with iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.

Exclusive: Treasure Hunt Through Nature with Tan Beng Chiak

In this session, veteran science educator Tan Beng Chiak will share how her journey to the green side inspires her to partner with conservation and environmental groups in Singapore. She’ll take you on a treasure hunt as you explore maps and rivers, capture images of animals, and record captivating bird sounds.
Photo Lab: Capturing Newsworthy Moments with Maye-E Wong
Tuesday, 6 March, 7:00pm–8:30pm
Go behind the scenes with the lead photographer for the Associated Press in North Korea Maye-E Wong. She’ll give her journalistic perspective on social issues and political protests, then will share tips on how to tell a captivating story in photos. You’ll get hands-on taking photos to tell your story on iPhone.

Exclusive: Thinking by Coding with Samiya Nadaf
Wednesday, 7 March, 7:00pm–8:30pm
In this session, instructor Samiya Nadaf will show you how to start to code. She’ll share what inspires her to teach students of all ages to think in code, and she’ll show how to get started coding with the Swift Playgrounds app. You’ll practice solving puzzles on your own with iPad Pro.
