Ashley Graham is famously known to tout body positivity everywhere she goes. Now, as she and husband Justin Ervin eagerly await the arrival of their first child, her pregnancy is no exception to showcasing the intimately candid moments of loving one's own body.
The supermodel took to Instagram yesterday to post a close-up photo of her body au naturale, stretch marks and pregnancy pains galore. "Same same but a little different," Graham wrote in the caption.
The responses have been overwhelmingly positive.
American businesswoman Bozoma Saint John commented, "Beautiful mama xo." Celebrity trainer Kira Stokes wrote, "BETTER. EVERY. DAY. 💪🏼❤️."
Others also shared their appreciation for Graham's candid snaps of herself. One person wrote, "My body looks EXACTLY like this 🙌 I'm not really proud of it … just saying that some of us don't have smooth skin or flat tummies like other women 😊 We come in different shapes, sizes and colors, but we deserve to be loved and respected just like everybody else 😌."
Although most have gushed over her bod in the comments, Graham previously discussed her approach to dealing with trolls who can't handle a woman who's proud of her body.
Speaking at Create & Cultivate's New York conference in May, Graham referred to the tantrums of trolls as "teachable moments."
"I am not going to come at you and be like, 'F you, B,' because why? That's just so much energy," she said, citing an instance in which someone expressed their disbelief at a revealing outfit Graham wore. "So I said, 'You're right, ma'am. My cellulite and fat is hanging out of my pants and I am sexy AF.' Because, why are we going to give room for trolls? I don't have time for that."
