Night 2 of Coachella was all about the Blinks.

On Saturday, Blackpink became the first ever girl group to headline Coachella and they graced the main stage with a performance that their fans will surely be referencing for years to come. Their 18-track setlist included their signature hits like "Pink Venom", "Whistle" and "Shut Down" with solo performances from Jennie, Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa as well. The production value of the performance upgraded what could have been simply a show into a full blown spectacle with elements like overhead drones, fireworks, and meticulously crafted choreography. For anyone who previously attended the group's Born Pink World Tour last year, it was easy to see how Coachella was an instant gamechanger for how the group want to be perceived by Western audiences. Blackpink aren't here to be a blip in the K-pop machine.

Instead of opting for looks courtesy of each member's individual luxury fashion contracts (Jennie with Chanel, Rosé with Saint Laurent, Jisoo with Dior, and Lisa with Celine) the members wore custom stage creations courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana that included corsetted co-ords in their namesake color scheme, laceup shorts, and edgy denim boleros.

The group's creative director Amy Bowerman spoke to BAZAAR last year about working alongside the girls and crafting their individual personas for the stage. For Bowerman, each member being able to incorporate elements of themselves into each and every performance of theirs is of the utmost priority. Coachella of course, was no different.

"We're always making sure we're peppering in those double sides to them," she explained at the time. "Outsiders [can see K-Pop as] this thing that's almost not real, but these girls are real, these girls can dance, and these girls are incredible."
