When shelter-in-place orders were first enacted, many responded to staying at home with an almost feverish can-do approach. People we’ve never seen work out before were doing fitness tutorials on their social media accounts, there were beauty routines, volunteering ideas, closet clean-outs, and banana bread, so much banana bread.

Now that we’re nearly two months into the Covid-19 pandemic, let’s just say some are losing steam. There is illness and economic hardship, so much to worry for and fear, but there is also community—albeit virtual—and there is fashion. For a certain type, there’s nothing that will change a mood faster than a look that’s, well, a mood.

BAZAAR wrangled some of the fanciest, fiercest, chicest we know to step out of their yoga, track, pj, and sweat pants for a minute, and dress to the absolute nines as a nod to a brighter, forever changed, but ideally more sparkly future. In recognition of our present, each has let us know what they do to cope, and the organizations and charities they trust to aid those most in need right now.

From Elizabeth Hurley to Helena Christensen, Keke Palmer and Normani, and so many more, they turned up in their best Versace, Balmain, Balenciaga, and Bottega and sent us the photos as receipts.
