Coach has officially taken its presence in the world of hospitality up a notch with The Coach Restaurant and Coach Coffee Shop at the Grand Indonesia Mall in Jakarta. The grand opening, held on 3 March 2024, was graced by stars from across Asia, including CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk, Luna Maya, Blue Pongtiwat, Hakken, Glenn Yong and Carrie West.

The new restaurant and coffee shop concepts, which are connected to the boutique, are reminiscent of the Coach Bagel Shop and Coach Play Singapore Shophouse, which debuted in 2022 and 2023 respectively. This time, the brand has brought a slice of the Big Apple to the Indonesian capital, along with the eclectic and electrifying New York energy that the fashion brand so proudly represents as well.

The restaurant’s decor is inspired by classic New York steakhouses and diners with leather booths, mirrored walls, glass blocks reminiscent of those at the subways and, the pièce de résistance, a humorous centrepiece installation of a yellow taxi cab emerging from the ceiling. Private dining rooms, located on the second floor, are aptly named after boroughs and locations in the city such as Hudson and Madison.

Beyond the decor, the devil is truly in the details; with tableware, waitstaff aprons, napkin cuffs and more sporting Coach’s logos, icons and leatherwork.

When it comes to the food, the menu features iconic steakhouse fare served in generous portions, including a juicy and tender strip steak, succulent shrimp cocktail, crab cakes packed with umami flavour and more. No meal is complete without a sweet treat, and the restaurant’s fudgy 20-layer chocolate cake and the decadent and creamy cheesecake, will leave you wanting more.

The bar is also fully stocked with an array of spirits and mixes to suit one’s fancy. If you are in the mood for something simple, the classic martini cannot be missed, especially when it is shaken and poured tableside with dramatic flair.
