The Duchess Of Cambridge And Queen Letizia Match In Monochrome For Order Of The Garter Service
Celebrating the most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain

Queen Letizia of Spain and the Duchess of Cambridge were two guests present at the Order of the Garter service and parade today (17 June) in Windsor. The two women co-ordinated in elegant black-and-white ensembles.
Kate opted for a white dress-coat with black piping by one of her favourite designers, Catherine Walker. She paired it with a circular headpiece, black clutch and pointed black courts.
Queen Letizia wore an elegant long-sleeved dress by Spanish brand Cherubina for the occasion, covered in a delicate dotted pattern. Like Kate, she also accessorised with simple black accessories.

The pair rode together in a carriage as part of the Garter Day procession.

The two royals were also joined by Sophie, Countess of Wessex; Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; and the Netherlands' Queen Maxima. All the women wore varying neutral shades of blush and pink.

The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in Britain, established by King Edward III nearly 700 years ago. The annual service is marked by a procession to the ceremony at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.

This year, the Queen invited King Felipe of Spain and King William-Alexander of the Netherlands to the ceremony, where they were both made Stranger Knights of the Garter. Both their wives attended in support of the honour.

The accolade is occasionally bestowed upon international royals, as in this instance, in an honorary capacity, but the order is typically restricted to just 24 members.
The Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex are all Knights of the Garter, while the Princess Royal is a Lady Companion. They were all present at today's service. Prince Harry is not yet a member, as a more junior member of the royal family.
