And three Singaporean artists were chosen to take part!

Following the wake of its wildly popular first Instagram art project, Italian fashion brand Gucci has launched a second iteration of its #GucciGram this season. The twist? Only Asian artists were invited to take part this time around. Coming from all across the continent, these online artists took on the house's new 'Tian' motif (which is inspired by 18th century chinoiserie) and interpreted it in unique ways that are absolutely riveting.

A short sampling of what you can expect: Cao Fei, the artist who took part in Gucci’s No Longer / Not Yet exhibition in Shanghai last October, places a pair of handcrafted Tian slippers in a rundown urban setting. Korean illustrator Jaesuk Kim highlights the Tian print in his signature willowy illustration of a woman, placing her in a tree hanging over the Italian house’s Padlock bag. Last but not least, Singaporean artist Charles Loh expands on the lush floral theme of the Tian print by setting a terrarium filled real flowers and branches in a realistic landscape against a backdrop of the print.
Eagle-eyed observers might also have noticed that three Singaporean artists were part of Gucci's second Instagram art installment. David Chan (@silentstudio), Teresa Lim (@teeteeheehee) and, as mentioned above, Charles Loh (@mossingarden) were invited to be a part of this fascinating art project, so some Singaporean pride would not be amiss here!
