Jennifer Aniston has joined the growing list of celebrities who are supporting the Black Lives Matter movement by opening their purses.

The Friends alum donated around $1 million to multiple charities fighting for racial justice, a source confirmed to People. One of the recipients of funding is Color of Change, the largest online racial justice organization in the United States, which Aniston has also linked in her Instagram bio. Last week, she urged her followers to sign a petition from the charity that called for the arrests of all four police officers who were involved in George Floyd's death. Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man, died in Minneapolis last month after an encounter with police when an officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes.

"This week has been heartbreaking for so many reasons," Aniston wrote on Instagram at the time, captioning a video of James Baldwin. "We need to acknowledge that the racism and brutality in this country has been going on for a long time - and it's NEVER been okay. As allies, who want equality and peace, it's our responsibility to make noise, to demand justice, to educate ourselves on these issues, and more than anything, to spread love. How much more time are we willing to let pass without change? HOW MUCH MORE TIME?"

Reports of The Morning Show star's contributions bubbled up over the weekend, with a source telling The Mirror, "She wanted to show her support, and has donated a big sum to the charity she felt resonated with her the most."

News of the donation arrives after many other celebrities have also lent financial assistance to organizations and individuals fighting for racial justice. Chrissy Teigen contributed $200,000 to bail out protesters seeking justice for Floyd's death, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds donated $200,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (so did Angelina Jolie), and K-pop group BTS gave $1 million to Black Lives Matter.
