The Scandinavians just keep on giving. Hot on the heels of hygge, the Danish concept of cosiness that took the world by storm in 2016, comes a new Finnish word the rest of the world needs to start using, stat: kalsarikännit. Defined as "The feeling when you are going to get drunk home alone in your underwear – with no intention of going out," it's definitely a term we can all get behind.
The Finland Promotion Board's country-themed emojis sums it up perfectly:
In case you need further convincing (although, why would you?), take it from some of our favourite women - wine at home alone on a Friday night, is always a good idea. Who needs overpriced food and drinks, loud music and shitty service?
