When Kate Middleton stepped out wearing a large citrine ring at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding and to Wimbledon, it was assumed that the ring was a new gift from Prince William. Many speculated that the new bling was given to the Duchess after the birth of her youngest son, Prince Louis, as a "push present." Push presents are given as a token of appreciation to new moms from their spouse, and William previously gave jewelry to his wife after the births of their other two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

However, fans have done some digging and are speculating that Kate actually owned the ring as far back as 2008. It seems that she was spotted wearing it during a night out with her sister Pippa, says the Mirror.

So, the fabulous ring probably wasn't a gift from Prince William, and if these royal-obsessed jewelry stalkers are on the money, this piece definitely wasn't given to her after Prince Louis was born in April.

It is traditional for new royal moms to receive gifts after the birth of their children. After Prince George was born in 2014, Kate was spotted out wearing a new eternity band on her ring finger stacked with her sapphire engagement ring that belonged to William's late mother, Princess Diana. Many believed the ring was her "push present" from Prince William after their first child was born, says the Mirror.

In 2015 after giving birth to her daughter Princess Charlotte, Kate received a pair of special edition green tourmaline, green amethyst, and diamond earrings designed by one of her favorite British jewelry designers, Kiki McDonough.

But, Prince William doesn't reserve gift giving to post-baby tokens. He reportedly gave Kate a pair of Kiki McDonough's earrings as a gift for their first Christmas together in 2011, according to Hello!
