Shall we rename the duchess DJ Cambridge?

Cambridges Scotland Tour - Heavy Sound

Not even the Duchess of Cambridge is immune to the allure of deejaying.

During her and Prince William's joint tour of East Lothian, Scotland, the couple paid a visit to Heavy Sound, an organization that partners with the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit to keep young people who might be vulnerable to violence engaged in education and extracurricular activities—such as music production—and provides a safe space to do so. Having transformed a service bus into a mobile community center, Heavy Sound offers support, advice, and music to neighborhoods in and around Edinburgh.

During their visit, Kate went beyond her normal chats and tried her hand at deejaying. And even though she was offered guidance from a Heavy Sound instructor, let's just say, "Top DJ" probably won't be added to the duchess's royal résumé anytime soon.

In the clip, Kate can be seen playing around on a control panel, bopping along to an upbeat bass track that may or may not sound like a squawking goose. The duchess quickly begins laughing as she realizes in real time that music production isn't one of her natural talents, and even covers her ears as the song continues to play. Also unimpressed by his wife's production skills, William quips, "Please turn that off. It's hurting my ears!"

Kate then pleads as they exit the DJ booth that the recording be deleted immediately. "Sorry for leaving such a terrible song," she laughs. "Delete it, delete it, delete it!"

In addition to Kate's failed disc jockey attempt, the Cambridges also talked with young people supported by the service, hearing about their experiences and how the center has helped individuals pursue new subjects like music production.
