The first official picture we have of the group is posted on the 5th of July, just two weeks after the finale of Produce 101 Season 2. These clean white-and-denim ensembles call to mind blank canvases that represent the group's readiness to take on colour, and of all sorts. Photo: Facebook

And so embrace the colours they did. Wanna One releases the two concepts for their debut extended play, "1x1=1 (To Be One)", on the 3rd of August. The first is youthful and very vibrant in colour; Wanna One here is buzzing with energy and ready to play. Photo: Facebook

The second concept is more brooding, contrasting the previous cutesy image to show that they, too, can nail the more alluring and cool nonchalant look. This double concept strategy will continue on throughout their releases to emphasize the group's versatility in style and music. Photo: Facebook

The group's first comeback is a gentler and more reserved take on their lighthearted next-door boy look they debuted with. The grungy additions of Dr Marten's boots and cuffed denim looks show a new sophisticated side the complements the pop ballad that titles this release. Photo: Facebook

The second concept image goes preppy with sweaters, suspenders and dress pants - this again emphasizes the softer and more laid-back feel the repackaged album "1-1=0 (Nothing Without You)" embodies. They hit it home with the unexpected win of pop ballad "Beautiful", a fresh breather from all the other high-energy acts other groups were putting up during the various end-of-the-year music shows that follow. The crooning melodies of singer-producer Heize intertwine beautifully with the vocals of Lee Daehwi and Ong Seongwoo in "Hourglass". The R&B in this is a prominent and soothing reassurance that Wanna One has once again proven itself a versatile group that has the dare and ability to fly in all senses of music. Photo: Facebook

In the third season of "Wanna One Go", it is revealed that the group will be broken into sub-units that will work with 4 different celebrity producers to create songs for "1÷1=1 (UNDIVIDED)", their latest release. Despite the irony of the album title, the title song "Light" was a true reflection of the pop-stars these 11 boys have become over the past year. Wanna One scored their first ever win on a music show with "Energetic" just one week after its release. To win as a rookie group with their debut song was a remarkable accomplishment, let alone winning as a group that had only come together a few months before; this certainly is the reason why they were the top candidates in the Produce 101 competition. The 11-piece makes history for holding their debut stage in the one of the largest performing spaces in Seoul, the Gocheok Sky Dome. This is a space idols usually only get to perform in after a year or two in the ball game, so it really was an impressive feat when this rookie group sold out all 17, 000 seats of the stadium. Wanna One was invited to their first KCON in LA last year. It's hard to tell that these 11 boys were only 2 weeks into the promotions of their first release from this picture. They all look so practiced and at ease here, it is a wonder they are only now showing themselves in front of the camera. Of present, they have also been to KCON Japan and Australia, and will be in the line-up of this year's KCON NY as well. Photo: Twitter
