Kendall Jenner’s priorities include her loved ones, her career, her mental health, and her privacy. Maintaining a healthy balance between all of these things, mom Kris Jenner says, has always been one of the model’s greatest strengths.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar for her September cover story, Kendall opens up about how she works on her mental wellness while navigating the “really cutthroat and intense” modelling industry.

“I started my therapy journey a year and a half ago. I meet with my therapist once a week, so every week I’m learning something new. I’m constantly evolving and just excited to do that,” she says. “I feel really balanced right now.”

But Kris says her second-youngest daughter has been practicing this balance and confidence in herself since she was young.

“She’s always been very definite about who she was. Her superpower is knowing when it’s too much or when it’s not enough,” the momager says.

Kendall and her four sisters (Kylie Jenner and Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé Kardashian) and brother (Rob Kardashian) grew up in the spotlight, with their E! show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, in which Kendall made her debut at age 11. They’ve since continued with the series’ Hulu reboot, The Kardashians.

Of growing up in the midst of reality TV fame, Kendall recalls: “I just kind of kept to myself. I loved hiding out in my room and doing my own thing or riding horses.”

Now, she’s made a name for herself outside of her family’s business as one of the world’s top supermodels, the creative director of FWRD, the face of several beauty and fashion brands, and the owner of her own tequila brand, 818.

And amid it all, Kendall has stayed true to herself. She says, “My affection for people and my empathy has only grown. My favorite part of getting older is the wisdom and knowledge.”
