Chinese Rapper Kris Wu And Pharrell Williams Had A Really Awkward Duet

The two performed together for the first time at Alibaba's Single's Day event

Sometimes, too much of a good thing is NOT a good idea. Case in point: For its recent Single's Day celebration, tech giant Alibaba had the brainwave to bring Pharrell Williams and Kris Wu together for a performance. Debuting a song they co-wrote titled 'Double Eleven Day', the duet was a mish-mash of half-hearted references that seemed to try to pander to both Eastern and Western counterparts. At some point in the performance, Williams just kept repeating, "Zhongguo", as China is known in its native tongue.

It's certainly the weirdest and least catchy tune we've heard from either of the singers, and it seems to have slipped under the radar of media outlets so far.

Double Eleven Day refers to 11 November, also known as Single's Day in China, and it is one of the largest shopping events that the country sees every year. This year, tech giant Alibaba reported close to $35 billion worth of sales on that day alone.
