If there’s a face to being a beauty with brains, it’ll look a whole lot like Nadine Lee.

While being on the second season of Netflix’s Single’s Inferno endeared her to a global audience, it was Lee’s impressive education history—she’s a neuroscience degree graduate from Harvard—that brought on unanimous admiration from the general public.

On her trip over to Singapore with beauty label Charlotte Tilbury this July, the breakout star humbly admitted in this exclusive interview, that while her alma mater is perhaps renowned for being full of geniuses, she would consider herself a student in the “hardworking category”.

Scroll down for our full sit-down interview with Nadine Lee as she lets us in on her love for the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Lip Blur, her beauty secrets, and her time on the hit Netflix reality series.

What is one of your best-kept beauty secrets (skincare, cosmetics) that we have to try out?

It would have to be putting on setting spray after laying on a wet concealer or foundation. The setting spray helps to thin out the base makeup and also makes it more sticky for a powder to cling to, and I think it just makes the most flawless finish.

Tell us what makes the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Lip Blur special.

It's just flawless, it's in the name. I don't know how else to explain it but it's so smooth, so moisturising. A lot of liquid lipsticks come off really patchy when worn and it's too drying when worn for the entire day, but these lip blurs don't have any of these qualities that turn me off them.

What is your favourite memory from your appearance in ‘Single’s Inferno 2'?

One of my many memorable moments filming on the island was when the entire cast was just playing in the ocean very early on in the beginning, and everyone wasn't too familiar with each other, and love lives weren't established yet. It was all so fun, and it felt very much like an authentic bonding moment between all of us. The scene didn't make the final cut for the show though.

What is one of your biggest mistakes when experimenting with beauty products in the past?

I think it would have to be gel black eyeliner. I had a phase back in the day when I would draw them on way too long to try to achieve the sleek almond-eye-shaped look, and it just didn't look good because my eyes are naturally rounder in shape.

What is the biggest myth about Harvard University?

This is a very well-known myth; that everyone's smart. There's a difference between people who are really hardworking and people who are literally geniuses—discovering chemicals when they're like 12 years old, and I have met both during my time in school. As for myself, I would say I am more like the hardworking ones.
