The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly committed to fostering a diverse environment within their Royal Foundation.

In a new 2020 trustees' report for Prince William and Duchess Catherine's charity organisation, it was revealed that the royal couple plan to focus on more diversity efforts as they plot out future programming and charitable endeavours.

"The Royal Foundation remains committed to equality and diversity and to ensuring a positive, safe and respectful environment which promotes the wellbeing and dignity of its employees, applicants, partners, suppliers and those whose interests it represents," a portion of the 44-page report read.

The document continued, "It aims to promote equality of opportunity and diversity and to tackle any forms of discrimination, harassment or bullying within its working environment, whether on grounds of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, and discrimination by association."

The Royal Foundation's latest trustee report comes after Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan accused unnamed royal family members and the royal institution at large of racism, ultimately influencing their decision to step down as senior working royals, relocate to America, and launch their own separate foundation, Archewell.

According to People, however, William and Kate are determined to work toward modernising the monarchy in the coming years, especially as they prepare to lead the United Kingdom as king and queen consort later this century.

"[They both] are playing a really important role in finding a point of connection for a different range of subjects that the family hasn't always connected with," a former palace staffer said of the Cambridges. "[They are focused on] being the modern face of the institution," a palace insider added.
