Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice's royal style has come a long way since they wore those funky hats at the 2011 royal wedding. Today, the regal sisters showed up to the queen's garden party at Buckingham Palace wearing elegant spring looks that proved their wardrobes have evolved beautifully in the past decade.

Eugenie, 29, went for a fresh monochrome ensemble with a nude Sandro wrap dress, which included a slightly sheer pleated skirt. She accessorized with a white embellished headband, a tan clutch, and silver Valentino Rockstud pumps. The light and airy frock was reminiscent of the Zac Posen gown she wore to her wedding reception, which also boasted a champagne hue and pleated details.

Beatrice, 30, wore a trendy iteration of the classic spring floral dress, donning a silk midi frock by The Vampire's Wife with puffed sleeves, a belted waist, and a tiered ruffled hem. Like Eugenie, she accessorized with a headband, selecting a berry, petal-covered design to match her flowery number. To top it off, she toted a super Instagrammable boxy basket bag to complete the ensemble.

Eugenie reflected on the event on Instagram this afternoon, posting photos from the soirée featuring members of her family. "This afternoon, my sister and I attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in support of Her Majesty," she wrote in the caption. "I really enjoyed meeting such a diverse group of people who were all invited in recognition of their work in their respective communities."

The royal family explained on Twitter this afternoon that four garden parties held each year. The event, where the queen honors people bettering their communities, is a royal tradition dating back to the 1860s during Queen Victoria's reign. These are no small backyard gatherings; apparently Her Majesty hosts over 30,000 guests at her garden parties each year.
