So, who made us go “aw!” and who made us want to scream at the screens? Presenting: Green Flag or Red Flag, our ranking of season two’s most datable darlings and those still in need of a little more coaching.

1. Choi Hyun-seo

Our underappreciated queen, Choi Hyun-seo. Throughout the entire series, she seemed to have set her sights on Choi Hyuk-joon. In the early episodes, fans loved seeing the pair get to know each other through some cute moments and vulnerable moments. However, about halfway through the series, he began to pull away and get distracted by other singles while stringing her along, whereas she never really wavered, except when it was clear that the relationship was more one-sided.

Hyun-seo has made many attempts to voice her concerns within their relationship without compromising on who she was. When it came down to it, she chose clarity over mixed signals, so she seems to have a good head on her shoulders.

Verdict: Green flag

2. Kim Soo-hyun

Kim Soo-hyun gives us the comic relief we need on this show. From the get-go, she’s been active in trying to get to know potential love interests, making the effort to go on dates with the people she likes and make conversations more insightful. It is also worth noting that among the girls, she appears to be someone they can lean on for comfort or for a good laugh. On the show, she’s had connections with Ahn Seung-hyun, Lee Jin-woo and late entrant Kim Tae-hoon, as the most recent love line. While it seems like the connections aren’t working out in her favour, her excitement about new experiences is endearing and many also find it fun that she uses ChatGPT for dating advice.

Verdict: Green flag

3. Jeon Seo-yoon

Jeon Seo-yoon is one patient woman. In earlier episodes, she started out shy, and focused on prioritising her idol type during the experience. As the episodes went by, she began to open up and eventually made a connection with game developer Kim Jae-seo. On dates, she made the effort to spark more meaningful conversations, which he often did not respond to. Their relationship remained very surface level, and she eventually moved on to Jung-yun, who did not share the same feelings.

All in all, despite her best efforts to push herself out of her comfort zone, she’s just been unlucky in the process as none of the men seem suitable for her.

Verdict: Green flag

4. Lee Han-ju

Lee Han-ju has been a solid person throughout the show, and deserves to find a man that treats her right! She’s had two connections, one with Jin-woo and one with Hyuk-joon. While both connections have not seemed to progress much, fans online appreciate that she shows no interest in toying with anyone and seems to prefer meaningful moments over ones that might get her more screentime.

5. Ahn Seung-hyun

If there was one male single that won the fans over, it would be Seung-hyun. On the show, while he is shy, he appears thoughtful, patient and seems to approach every date and interaction with genuine thought and care. Fans praised his reactions to uncertainty and rejection, with him responding with grace instead of defensiveness. His one drawback is that the man can’t seem to make up his mind! Fans have called him scatter brained as he has not been able to make a deep connection with anyone as he gets excited whenever someone new shows an interest in him.

Verdict: Beige flag

6. Yoon Jung-yun

While undeniably sincere, Yoon Jung-yun’s shyness seemed to get in the way of his connection with Han Su-ji, whom he had his eyes on the entire season. His lack of confidence prevented him from taking initiative in conversations and on dates. While we sympathise with his lack of dating experience, fans noted his reluctance to communicate held back several unexplored connections.

Verdict: Beige flag

7. An Jeong-eun

An Jeong-eun has had connections with Hyuk-joon and Jin-woo throughout the series. Out of the two, it was the relationship with Jin-woo that began to slightly progress. While the two took a mutual liking to each other, the couple got into a misunderstanding , with her citing that he did not like that she was a student. Jeong-eun often second-guesses herself, which caused Jin-woo and other potential suitors to find it difficult to understanding how she truly feels

Verdict: Beige flag

8. Han Su-ji

Han Su-ji was one who divided opinions. Many loved her for her fairy-like visuals, independence, and confidence, while others felt like she was emotionally hard to read. Her reserved approach occasionally made it seem as though she kept potential partners like Hyuk-joon and Jung-yun at arm's length, leading some to question if she was fully invested in this process.

Verdict: Beige flag

9. Lee Jin-woo

Lee Jin-woo came in as one of the last contestants and made a big impression. Some singles on the show noted that even though he dated online and never met the person, he was not actually an ‘eternal single’. Despite this, he dove into the process and was particularly direct on all his dates with Su-ji, Jeong-eun and Soo-hyun. While many fans appreciated his enthusiasm, many have noted that he appeared to get more arrogant as he started to gain more love interests.

Verdict: Red flag

10. Kim Jae-seo

From the get-go, people were rooting for Jae-seo after his big makeover. Despite a rocky and awkward start, he eventually made a brief connection with Han-ju and a more substantial one with Seo-yoon. What really ticked fans off was when the singles where playing a game in which the male contestant picks who they want to go on a date with. While on this date with Seo-yoon, he said, “This might be the last one for you today,” insinuating that no other male single was interested in going on a date with her.

In addition, fans noticed how most of his one-on-one conversations on dates have lacked substance, which ultimately stalled potential connections.

11. Choi Hyuk-joon

Choi Hyuk-joon is this season’s walking red flag. In the earlier episodes, he was actually one of the show’s fan favourites, when he and Hyun-seo were getting to know each other and giving us some cute couple moments. Things took a turn for the worse as more girls started to express an interest in him. We get that this is a dating show but fans on social media platform X have even said that “his ideal type changes on a daily”. Despite having what seemed like a strong mutual connection with Hyun-seo, he went on to explore any connection that came to him, while stringing Hyun-seo along.

Fans have noted that by doing this, he’s wasted his time on surface-level relationships and has not prioritised a girl who’s put all her eggs in one basket. On one instance occasion, he was upset that Hyun-seo had gifted treats to him and another suitor, which came after he went on several different dates with different love interests. His mentor, Car, the garden, even responded with, “You’re asking why she gives presents to two people? Ok then, why are you going on a date with everyone?” Double standards much?

Verdict: Red flag
