Rihanna has made her debut on The Sunday Times Rich List, with an estimated fortune of £468 million.

The icon claimed third place on the list of Britain’s richest musicians, overtaking legends Elton John and Mick Jagger.

Rihanna, who has lived in London for the past three years, can point her success to the Fenty Beauty cosmetics brand, with her 15 per cent stake being valued at £351 million.

Robert Watts, who compiles the annual list, explained to the BBC: “She somewhat caught us by surprise.”

“Very few people knew she was living in the UK until last summer. Now she’s well placed to be the first musician to read billionaire status in the UK.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Paul McCartney are joint first on the list, both being worth £800 million.

Rihanna, who celebrated her 32nd birthday in February, is a youthful exception amongst Britain's richest musicians, most of whom found fame in the 1960s and 70s, reports the BBC.

Ed Sheeran and Adele were among the top 40 highest-earners as younger artists, with fortunes valued at £200 million and £150 million. Further down the list were the next generation of pop stars, including Dua Lipa, 24, and George Ezra, 26, each worth £16 million.
