- During the fifth annual Diamond Ball, Rihanna revealed in a red carpet interview with Essence that she's interested in becoming a mother with a powerful statement.

- "I’m going to give birth to a black woman," she partly said.

- She also said in a different interview that she's "really happy."

Take notes from Rihanna, ladies, because she's living her best life right now.

During the fifth annual Diamond Ball in New York City, Rihanna divulged some empowering details: that she wants to be a mother and that she's "really happy" with her life at the moment. Considering the hell storm that is our current 24-hour news cycle, it's refreshing to read some news that isn't, well, awful.

Talking about black women and the power of motherhood, the singer told Essence, "I’m a black woman. I came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman and I’m going to give birth to a black woman. It's a no-brainer. That's who I am. It's the core of who I am in spirit and DNA."

She also pointed to her own mother as inspiration, saying, "My mother is an incredible example of how to fight through obstacles in life. I’m sure her mom taught her that and that’s how I’m going to be. We are impeccable, we’re special, and the world is going to have to deal with that."

This isn't the first time Rihanna has opened up about wanting to become a parent. Speaking to Sarah Paulson in an interview earlier this year, the singer said she wants to be a mother "more than anything in life."

And for those wondering, no, she's not pregnant.

In a separate interview with People, Rihanna added that she's currently in a good place in her life.

"I’m really happy right now. The thing that’s making me the happiest tonight is seeing the amount of support, the magnitude of support is really special," she said. “I mean I could be out here and throw a ball by myself and I’d feel good, but the thing that’s making me feel this high of cloud 9 is seeing people who believe in my cause and think it’s something worth donating to, something worth investing in.”
