Rihanna honored late Los Angeles legend Kobe Bryant after the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat to claim their first NBA championship title in a decade.

Following the team's stunning triumph, the Fenty Beauty founder uploaded a video of herself and some friends in celebration mode, á la Queen's requisite "We Are the Champions" and plenty of Lakers merch. Rihanna herself wore a Bryant jersey emblazoned with the number 24, one of his memorable uniform numbers.

"If you ain't on this time right now…bye," she wrote in the caption, which also gave a shout-out to Lakers forward LeBron James, who made history himself last night as the first player in NBA history to be named Finals MVP in three different franchises (the previous two being with the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers). "Lebron remains king 💪🏿," the singer continued. "Lakers are the champs 💜💛 and Kobe is proud 🙏🏿 A.D thank you! #🏆 #Congratulations."

Kobe was 41 years old when he died in a helicopter crash this past January. His 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant, was also one of the passengers on board who died in the accident.

Following Kobe's death, James made a statement on coming together in the face of grief. "As I look around this arena, we're all grieving, we're all hurt, we're all heartbroken and when we're going through things like this, the best thing you can do is lean on the shoulders of your family," he said, as reported by ESPN.

"Now, I've heard about Laker Nation before I got here last year, about how much of a family it is and that is absolutely what I've seen this week," James continued. "Not only from the players, the coaching staff and the organization, but from everybody. Everybody that's here, this is truly, truly a family."
