'She-Hulk' Season 1: Everything We Know So Far

Tatiana Maslany is set to play Bruce Banner's cousin who develops superpowers after a blood transfusion.

'She-Hulk' Season 1

It's official: Disney+ is bringing Marvel's She-Hulk to the screen, and Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany is confirmed to star.

Here's everything we know about She-Hulk Season 1 so far.

TATIANA MASLANY WILL PLAY THE LEAD CHARACTER.

As reported by Variety in September 2020, Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany is set to play the lead in Marvel's She-Hulk. Maslany will portray Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who just so happens to be Bruce Banner's cousin. As being related to the Hulk isn't enough to give Jennifer her powers, when she receives a blood transfusion from Bruce, she finds herself gaining some of his abilities.

There's one major difference between Bruce and Jennifer though. As Variety noted, "When she hulks out Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control." Obviously, we more than welcome a female superhero who is completely in control of herself and doesn't bow to some of the more outdated comic book stereotypes about women.

SHE-HULK HAS FOUND ITS SHOWRUNNER AND DIRECTOR.

As well as casting its lead role, Disney+'s new Marvel show has also found a showrunner and a director. As previously reported by Variety, Disney tapped Kat Coiro to direct and executive-produce the show. Coiro helmed Jennifer Lopez's romantic comedy Marry Me and directed episodes of popular shows including It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Dead to Me.

Meanwhile, Jessica Gao is She-Hulk's showrunner. She's also writing the series and serving as an executive producer. Gao's credits include Rick and Morty and Silicon Valley.

DISNEY+ HAS RELEASED THE FIRST TRAILER.

The streaming platform dropped the first She-Hulk trailer on May 17, 2022.

The trailer includes a cameo from Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner, who shows Maslany's Jennifer Walters the ropes in how to control her transformations into the titular green hero.

"Your transformations are triggered by anger and fear," Bruce tells Jennifer.

She replies, "Those are, like, the baseline of any woman just existing."

SHE-HULK FANS CAN WATCH STARTING AUGUST 2022.

The series will begin exclusively streaming on Disney+ on August 17.

THERE COULD BE A MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE CROSSOVER.

According to RadioTimes, "A recent casting call has hinted that [Bruce and Jennifer's] comic-accurate origin story will indeed make it into the show. … It seems safe to assume that the universe's angriest cousins will eventually team up in an Avengers movie."

Basically, Maslany could find herself as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen in no time.
