It's a sad tragedy that Taiwan-born Canadian model-actor Godfrey Gao, 35, has died after he collapsed while filming a Chinese variety series in Zhejiang in eastern China. The 1.93m-tall Gao was first in the public eye as a fashion model, and has since starred in several films, including The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones., and has fronted many international brands as their ambassador. Here, we traced some of the highlights in his career:

In July 2018, Godfrey Gao was appointed as the new menswear brand ambassador for Spanish brand Massimo Dutti.

Godfrey Gao starred in Love is a Broadway Hit with actress Wang Likun, a romantic comedy directed by Peter Lee.

Godfrey Gao was chosen to be the new brand ambassador for Links of London at Basel World 2015.

He starred in Hollywood blockbuster film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Godfrey Gao was the first Asian male model to appear in luxury brand Louis Vuitton's ad campaign in 2011.
