The 'Pretty Little Liars' Reboot Has Found Its First Two Liars

The Pretty Little Liars reboot officially has its first two cast members.

Deadline reports that the upcoming HBO Max reboot, titled Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, has cast Chandler Kinney and Maia ReficcoRiverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will write the show with CAOS writer Lindsay Calhoon Bring, with Lisa Soper directing the first two episodes. The reboot is described as "darker" than the original series, which can be expected with the CAOS crew at the helm.

The reboot will follow a new set of Liars in the "blue-collar town" Millwood, which was rocked by a past tragedy. The new Liars find themselves targeted by an "unknown Assailant," who makes them pay for the actions of their parents twenty years ago, according to Deadline.

Kinney will play Tabby, an aspiring director and horror movie buff who's hiding a secret. The 20-year-old actress' credits include the Lethal Weapon TV show, American Horror Story, and KC Undercover.

Reficco will play Noa, a track star who's striving to get her life back to normal after a summer in juvie. Reficco starred in the Nickelodeon telenovela Kally's Mashup, and is currently Strangers, a Netflix film fromSomeone Great director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

Original Sin is the third show to spin off the original Pretty Little Liars series, based off the book series written by Sara Shepard. The spin-off Ravenswood, which followed Caleb as he moved to a ghost-filled town, ended after one season. Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, whichtook place after the series and followed Alison and Mona to their new positions at Beacon Heights University, was also cancelled after one season.

There's no word yet whether the reboot will have a connection to the original series, or if fans can expect the original Liars to appear.
