Chinese dramas are having a major moment, thanks to the viral hype of those vertical C-drama clips we keep seeing across social media. Many Chinese stars like Zhang Linghe, Ding Yuxi and Esther Yu are also going global as ambassadors of luxury fashion houses, cementing their international influence.

From angst-filled ‘wuxia’ (martial arts) stories like the acclaimed Pursuit of Jade (2026) to heartwarming modern rom-coms, there’s no shortage of binge-worthy flicks for you to get lost in. Below, our list of all the upcoming Chinese dramas you’ll want to add to your watchlist.

Never-Ending Summer

Never-Ending Summer follows Zhou Wan, a diligent, top-tier student who becomes entangled with her mother’s rebellious stepson, Lu Xi Xiao, in a desperate attempt to fund money for her ill-stricken grandmother. One fateful summer brings about a decade-long cycle of desire for a romance that was doomed from the start.

Never-Ending Summer is now premiering on iQIYI.

Love Has Fireworks

This one is for the close proximity troupe girlies. By a string of fate, a hopeless romantic finds herself moving in with a wealthy cynic who strictly believes that love should be an afterthought. As their worlds collide under the same roof, they have to decide if their differences are dealbreakers, or if true love has been closer to them than they think.

Love Has Fireworks is now premiering on Viu, iQIYI and WeTV.

4 July 2026: Overdo

Zhang Linghe is feeding us well this year. This upcoming C-drama is set in Shanghai during the Republic of China, and it’s a story worth knowing. It follows the youngest son of a warlord who, in a series of mishaps, finds himself falling in love with his maiden saviour—only to be abandoned by her as well. Years later, they meet again—this time, as his sister-in-law. This is a series of misunderstandings, yearning and affection, all in a time where tomorrow isn’t promised.

Overdo premieres on iQIYI and WeTV on 4 July 2026.

2026: Road to Success

If you’re into youth romance flicks, here’s one for you. Adapted from the web novel Xia Lu by Chang Er, Road To Success follows Lin Wan Xing (Esther Yu), a P.H.D student returning to her hometown to work as a high school sports equipment manager. There, she resolutes herself to revive the school’s disbanded football team with the help of her fellow tenant and former top football coach, Wang Fa (Chen Jing Ke).

Road To Success premieres on iQIYI. The release date is yet to be announced.

2026: In the Moonlight

In the Moonlight follows Bao Shang En as Li Yao Ying, a princess who is sold off in a political marriage. When she’s saved by a reclusive monarch, the both of them stand upon a forbidden love threatening to blossom.

In the Moonlight premieres on iQIYI and WeTV. The release date is yet to be announced.
