Adele Brought Her Drag Queen Impersonator On Stage With Her
"RuPaul's Drag Race" star Delta Work was the spitting image of Adele
In late July, Adele brought drag queen impersonator Kristie Champagne onstage with her at a concert. On Saturday night in Los Angeles, the British superstar brought yet another drag queen lookalike on stage, and the resemblance is so uncanny, it's almost scary.
Delta Work, who was a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race, often lip-syncs as Adele in Los Angeles, matching her looks exactly and nailing her performance style.
Before the show began on Saturday, Delta arrived with fellow Drag Race alum Detox and posed with fans. They started the hashtag #Adelta to get Delta to meet Adele, and even made signs to bring into the stadium.
All that effort paid off. Adele brought Delta on stage to compare outfits, and even said Delta's jewels were better than hers. Adele promised to catch Delta's show in Los Angeles on Tuesday. They concluded the bit with a selfie for the ages.
After the show, it was clear Delta (whose name out of character is Gabriel Villarreal) was beside herself. "Hey Adele: Thank you," Delta tweeted. "I am over the moon. Your show was so elegant and special. Thank you for your kindness."
