When Chanel decided to hold its latest Metiers d’Art collection in the German city of Hamburg, we thought, ‘How will Karl Lagerfeld make the quintessentially French luxury brand, German?’ Well, we need not have worried. The show, held at the the newly built Hamburg Philharmonic building, the Elbphilharmonie, was a masterful ode to sailors’ uniforms—think pea coats, drop-front trousers, sweaters and caps.
Inspired by #ChanelinHamburg, we took models Johanna Defant and Pauline Hoarau around the charming town (in the rain, we might add) to explore what it really means to be German in Chanel!
