Taking into account the internet’s everlasting obsession with choreography videos, Christian Louboutin merged dance with its iconic red sole heels for a new short film titled “La Répétition.” Tapping choreographer, dancer and filmmaker Blanca Li, the new video features a group of dancers performing in Louboutin’s fall 2016 collection—what, like it’s hard?
Inspired by “The Chorus Line, “the video spotlights a group of dancers rehearsing Li’s demanding choreography until one collapses of exhaustion (ironically it’s a male dancer in sneakers rather than one of the women twirling around in six inch heels). The tongue-in-cheek video manages to make dancing in studded stilettos, heeled booties and platforms look like a walk in the park and will undoubtedly make you want to a) invest in a pair of Louboutin’s fall 2016 collection or b) sign up for a dance class stat.
Also accompanying the the film is a lookbook photographed by Rene Habermacher in Paris, showcasing the new shoes in action at the dance studio.
This isn’t the first time Louboutin has merged the art of dancing with its iconic red sole shoes. In 2015, the shoe brand collaborated with Blanca Li on the show Robot, which debuted at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
