M.I.A. Launches Exclusive Video With H&M For World Recycle Week

The London-based artist rounds up a diverse crew to raise awareness about H&M's sustainability project

London- based artist M.I.A. has collaborated with Swedish fashion giant H&M on an exclusive music video to raise awareness about sustainability in fashion for World Recycle Week.

Titled 'Rewear It', the video features a diverse cast of social influencers and inspirational people from across the globe, including Chinese actress Yao Chen. They range from music artists, dance artists, comedians and people with a passion for environmental and social sustainability issues.

“World Recycle Week is about embracing important environmental issues such as the landfills, and highlighting a global movement,” says M.I.A.

From 18-24 April (World Recycle Week), H&M aims to collect 1,000 tonnes of unwanted or worn out garments from customers worldwide in more than 3,600 stores. Here in Singapore, during this week, customers will receive 2 vouchers worth 15% off one item for every bag of unwanted textiles donated in any H&M store. Also, for every kilogram collected, 2 cents (in euro) will be donated to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

Shopping with a cause? That's something we can always get behind.
