Since its inception in 2018, the Moncler Genius initiative has given a voice to personal creativity with its inventive approach of appointing multiple creative directors — including Pierpaolo Piccioli, Simone Rocha, Craig Green and Richard Quinn — to create their own capsule collections that are rolled out throughout the year.
Already in its third edition, Moncler Genius continues to explore new horizons, building up its “One House, Different Voices” message by tapping Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson. Known for his modern, gender-bending aesthetic and thought-provoking silhouettes, the designer has earned critical acclaim with his eponymous label, JW Anderson, and as creative director of the Spanish luxury house LOEWE.
The technicality and straightforwardness of Moncler are fascinating to me. A down jacket needs to respond to a function, and I kept that in mind adding my own taste for blunt abstraction.
JW Anderson
The 1 Moncler JW Anderson collection stays true to both Moncler and JW Anderson through a unisex collection that conveys bold functionality and a playful spirit. Anderson reinterprets and inflates a selection of his archival designs; offering unique silhouettes, contrasting juxtapositions of colours and finishes, tactile motifs in the form of embossed dots and protruding spikes, as well as countryside-inspired prints.
Watch as Mae Tan embarks on a journey of introspection — navigating place and space in search of meaning — dressed in key pieces from the latest collection (think: zip-up puffers, trench coats, and military-style knits accessorised with padded bags and packable boots), and scroll to discover more.
The 1 Moncler JW Anderson collection will be exclusively available at Moncler’s Marina Bay Sands flagship store from October 1.
