With CNY a mere week away, the good people at Netflix have come up with a zodiac wheel that predicts what’s in store for you in the Year of the Rooster — and a personalised Netflix playlist based on it to boot. Enter your date of birth, watch the wheel spin (and clock the killer graphics), and then sit back as your fortune is unveiled. Here’s a sample of the predictions and shows each sign should be watching — head over to the microsite for your full fortune and playlist.
Like Titus Andromedon on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, this year, Roosters should “Break out of your comfort zone and you will turn dreams into reality.”
“Your year will be filled with friendship,” so be sure to kick off the festive season with your best friends (hopefully, in a less dramatic way than Todd Brotzman on Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency).
Boars, whether it’s wearing black or OD-ing on pineapple tarts, make Orange is the New Black‘s Poussey proud by doing as your heart desires this CNY and beyond. “Live in the moment; you will be loved for it.”
Nosy relatives? Being dealt less-than-ideal tiles in your mahjong session? Missed out on the last slice of kueh lapis? Look to Sense8‘s Sun Bak and “Have faith in yourself – you’ve got this.”
Like Luge Cage (and your zodiac animal), it’s time to be strong. This year, “You will be the rock that others count on.”
Telekinesis. Biokinesis. A mysterious fondness for Eggo waffles. Like Eleven of Stranger Things, “You will surprise yourself – and others” in the Year of the Rooster.
Rabbits, like Tom Kirkman of Designated Survivor, you will find yourself in the spotlight. Follow in his footsteps with “Your mantra: Others before self.”
This will come as no surprise to Dragons, but a la Pablo Escobar on Narcos, “Your spirit will empower those in your circle.”
Repeat this to yourself when your relatives launch their usual inquisition: “Your focus will see you through your biggest trials.” Jessica Jones feels ya.
Saddle up, Horses! As with your equine buddy, Bojack Horseman, “You will discover a keen sense of adventure” in the year ahead.
“You will make a bold choice on behalf of many.” Be prepared to take the lead (and perhaps even some heat) like Queen Elizabeth did when she ascended to the throne on The Crown.
Itching to get out of a conversation with your boyfriend’s mother’s uncle? Trying to get your hands on that last slice of bak kwa? “Your creativity will bring you success,” a la Violet Baudelaire on A Series of Unfortunate Events.
