Your first look at Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson is here. The teaser trailer debuted this morning on Good Morning America, though the film itself doesn’t hit theatres until 17 March 2017.
The clip shows scenes from the Beast’s castle slowly deteriorating after falling under the Enchantress’ curse. There’s a second of Belle (Emma Watson) curiously opening the castle door, Lumiere and Cogsworth debating whether she’s “the one” and, in the final moments, a familiar shot: Belle peering upon the Enchanted Rose. All the while, the haunting melody from the 1991 animated film plays in the background.
Watson isn’t the only A-lister set to make an appearance in the film—the remake boasts a top-notch cast. Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) stars as the Beast, Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit) will play Gaston, Josh Gad (Frozen) is Le Fou and Kevin Kline (Last Vegas) is Belle’s father Maurice. Gad shared an excited cast photo last year when they began to film:
March can’t come soon enough.
