Tod's Short Film 'Sounds of a Planet' is Straight Out of a Daydream
"The intertwinings of people made possible by a pair of shoes"
In celebration of its 2020 fall/ winter collection, Tod’s has unveiled a dreamy short film titled Sounds of a Planet, directed by renowned Japanese director and producer, Tomokazu Yamada.
Set in a small laundromat, the film features actress and brand ambassador Nana Eikura as a young lady who has a mysterious, dream-like experience after a customer drops by with a special pair of shoes (Tod's Spiga High Heels).
Through her daily interactions with unique customers — dressed in coordinated looks from the debut collection by the brand's new creative director Walter Chiapponi — Yamada "focused on Tod’s approach to crafting goods, and wanted to show Tod’s products and the world they represent centred around the story and characters". Sounds of a Planet also showcased "the intertwinings of people made possible by a pair of shoes."
