Last night, Karl Lagerfeld unveiled his hotly anticipated fashion film, Once and Forever, at the Chanel Métiers d’Arts show in Rome. Starring his latest muse Kristen Stewart and long-time Lagerfeld favourite Geraldine Chaplin, the film portrays the pair as actresses cast in the role of the French fashion house’s founder.

Stewart is undoubtedly perfect in the role: By turns capricious and bad-tempered, yet faltering and vulnerable, she manages to capture the nuances of a young Coco Chanel on film. But one of the standouts of the film was most definitely the regal Geraldine Chaplin, who plays an older version of Chanel with such conviction, we are momentarily spellbound.

Other famous faces and cameos in the film include Jamie Bochert (who also walked on the runway), Jérémie Elkaïm, François Marthouret, Amanda Harlech, Jake Davies, Baptiste Giabiconi and Laura Brown.
