The Hermès Cape Cod timepiece is celebrating its 25th birthday this year. Inspired by the house’s chaîne d’ancre link, Henri Dorigny’s design became an instant classic, but its popularity truly skyrocketed when a double-wrap version was introduced for Martin Margiela’s Hermès debut in 1998.
2016’s Cape Cod is as stylish as ever, however with the development of new gem-setting techniques and interchangeable straps in a rainbow of vivid colours, its ageless appeal has been given a contemporary update (there is now a men’s model with a cuff-style wristband as well). Trimmed with mother of pearl, lapis lazuli and onyx dials, keeping track of time has never been more elegant.
