All for a good cause

Cara Delevingne is selling her personal TAG Heuer watch on eBay in an effort to raise funds for the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU) in memory of Cecil the lion, who was brutally killed last month by a recreational big-game hunter in Zimbabwe.

The model has listed her TAG Heuer prototype for the special edition Carrera Cara Delevingne timepiece on the auction site eBay. The watch, which sells for over £3,000 in store, fittingly has an image of a lion engraved on the reverse of the face, matching Delevingne’s lion tattoo on her right index finger.

“The killing of Cecil the Lion was a tragedy”, Delevingne writes on the auction listing description. “Today, join me to help the scientists who care about the future of wild lions in Africa and work very hard on their conservation. Ahead of the official sale of my TAG Heuer Signature Edition, I decided to auction my personal timepiece prototype. I wore this watch on several occasions and during the last Monaco Grand Prix. The full amount will be refunded to WildCRU.org, the research unit that followed Cecil for many years. So let's join forces!”
