Launched in 1994 as the nautical accompaniment to its popular Bulgari Diagono sports watch, the Diagono Scuba has steadily earned fans with its classic yet versatile design. Cased in gold or steel, the diver’s watch is an elegant alternative to chunkier sports watches and is paired with either a rubber strap or metal bracelet. The Summer 2015 edition of the Diagono Scuba comes in four new versions but retains its key capabilities: It is water resistant for up to 300 metres, and now comes equipped with the Manufacture BVL 191 Solotempo calibre.

“The approach that guided the reinterpretation of the new Diagono Scuba absolutely had to preserve the spirit of the Scuba first-generation: an extremely chic watch symbolising Italian elegance,” said Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, director of Bulgari’s Watch Design Center. To pay homage to its Roman roots, the watch’s designs incorporate design elements—the architectural codes of Roman columns and arches, in particular—in the watch’s dial, bezel, hands and hour-markers. Brace yourselves, the Bulgari Diagono Scuba is set to make a splash this summer.
