First Look At Swatch's Disney Mickey Mouse X Keith Haring Collaboration

Disney lovers and Keith Haring fans, here’s a new collection you don't want to miss! Swatch has just announced another special collaboration with American street artist Keith Haring (the first was in 1986 when the artist designed four watches before opening his infamous Pop Shop on Lafayette Street in downtown New York). This time, Swatch is bringing in another partner to the fold — Disney!

 Swatch continues to pay homage to the late Keith Haring for his defining style of graffiti in this collection as part of their ongoing initiative to make art more accessible to all. The street art pioneer is said to have always wanted to work for Disney, and made it evident in his work by incorporating recurring Mickey Mouse characters. 

This special collection centres around Disney’s well-loved character Mickey Mouse reimagined by Keith Haring’s signature aesthetic with additional dramatisation and use of vibrant energy and colours! The four new watches include the Mickey Blanc Sur Noir, Mouse Mariniere, Electric Mickey, and a maxi version of the Electric Mickey.

Mickey Blanc Sur Noir

The stylised illustration of Mickey Mouse by Keith Haring sits prominently on the dial of the Mickey Blanc Sur Noir watch. The pop of yellow on the cut-out hands and strap loop makes for a perfect contrast against the minimalistic black monochrome design.

 Mouse Mariniere

What really stands out on the Mouse Mariniere is the red-and-white strap, inspired by Mickey Mouse’s iconic shorts. Haring’s illustration of the iconic Mickey Mouse is etched on the glass watch case that sits atop a red-and-white striped dial to add depth and movement.

Electric Mickey & Maxi Electric Mickey

Haring’s hypnotising trademark black-and-white curved lines display Mickey Mouse in all of his splendour, on the Electric Mickey watch, accentuated by Swatch’s primary colours. Also available as a coveted maxi version that measures over 2 metres, the Maxi Electric Mickey is as practical as it is collectible. 

Judging by how fast the limited edition watches Haring designed in 1986 sold out, we’re pretty sure these new renditions will be snatched up really soon.
