With watchmakers pulling out all the stops to woo the fairer sex, women are assured of finding a beautiful timepiece to suit their fancy. What’s of a rarer nature are ladies watches that present both beauty and technical prowess with balanced artistry. That’s where Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Rendez-Vous comes in. Since its launch in 2012, the collection has continued to offer women a host of complications that put the mystery and romance of haute horology centre stage, complete with graceful looks that warrant time in the spotlight.
The 2015 collection follows in that tradition with three new models to seal the deal: The Rendez-Vous Moon presents a beloved complication that’s dedicated to the most feminine of celestial bodies; and it does so with impeccable finesse. While conventional moon phase timepieces present an accuracy of a one- day deviation every two and a half years, Jaeger-LeCoultre turns the game on its head with an astounding accuracy of once every 972 years. It’s also available in two sizes (36mm and 39mm), ensuring that even women with the most petite wrists are able to enjoy the beauty of this glowing number.

Then, there’s the Rendez-Vous Ivy Minute Repeater, unveiled late last year, which gains top honours for marking the very first time Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced the complication into its feminine collection. Dressed with an Art Nouveau-inspired dial, the watch comes equipped with a silent regulator that reduces any peripheral sounds made by its automatic movement so that only the clear chime of the minute repeater can be heard. Further enforcing the watch’s exquisiteness is the fact that it has been released in a limited edition of just 88 pieces.
Rounding up the show is the Rendez-Vous Celestial, which presents a new take on the watchmaker’s 2013 model. An elliptical dial opening reveals a sky chart—adorned with the constellations of the zodiac—that makes a full turn once every 23 hours 56 minutes and 4 seconds (or what is considered a sidereal day). This time, however, the fiery timepiece is presented in pink gold and a bordeaux aventurine that glitters with every movement.

With each fresh introduction into its Rendez-Vous collection, Jaeger-LeCoultre has shown that it remains dedicated to the needs of serious female watch collectors, with timepieces that bear brawn, brain and beauty in equal measures. The results? An ever-growing fan base that cannot wait to see what else the Manufacture has up its sleeves.
