Tiffany & Co. has officially entered the NFT space with the launch of NFTiff—an online gateway.

In partnership with Chain, a blockchain infrastructure solutions company, the American luxury jeweller also unveiled a limited-edition NFTiff pass exclusively designed for CryptoPunks—a non-fungible token collection of 10,000 uniquely generated characters on the Ethereum blockchain—holders. And these will be available for purchase from Friday, 5 August 2022 through the retailer’s online NFTiff gateway.

Tiffany & Co. will also be working on transforming CryptoPunks into custom-designed pendants based on the 87 attributes and 159 colours appearing across the collection of NFTs—matching with the most similar gemstone or enamel colour. Each pendant will feature at least 30 gemstones and/or diamonds in order to create a custom design that best resembles the original NFT art.

The pendants will be available in either 18k rose or yellow gold, and will be on an adjustable chain between 18 to 22 inches of rectangular links symbolising the shape of pixels. Only 250 pendants will be produced, each engraved with its unique CryptoPunk edition on the back. There’ll also be a limit of three NFTiff passes available for purchase per person, priced at 30 ETH.

The concept of NFTiff came about when Arnault shared a photo of his bespoke jewellery interpretation of CryptoPunk #3167 on social media, created by artisans at Tiffany & Co. This caught the attention of Chain’s CEO, Deepak Thapliyal. He expressed his enthusiasm for the piece and decided to work with Tiffany & Co. to create the NFTiff pass and online gateway, nftiffany.com.

“As a CryptoPunks holder, I saw a partnership with Tiffany as a way to make NFTs accessible to new collectors as well as strengthen the existing community that has embraced the art,” said Thapliyal in a press statement.
