Princess Diana redefined royal style, so it’s no surprise that her iconic wardrobe and jewelry collection continue to make waves on the auction scene. The newest piece of the late princess to go on sale is a stunning diamond and pearl necklace, worn to one of her last public engagements before her death in 1997.
Hand-crafted by the former Crown Jeweler, Garrard, the necklace consists of 178 diamonds and South Sea pearls. It’s aptly named “The Swan Lake necklace,” since Diana famously wore the piece to a performance of Swan Lake at London’s Royal Albert Hall in June, 1997.
