Van Cleef & Arpels Unveils New Additions To Its Alhambra Collection
Even after more than 40 years, women are still in love with the enchanting contours of this lucky-charm motif

The iconic motif of Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra collection made its debut in 1968 and is now an emblem of the Maison.
The initial offering was a long, plain yellow gold necklace, and many women were enchanted by this lucky charm motif that symbolises luck, health, fortune and love.
This year, Van Cleef & Arpels has new additions to its Alhambra collection — four long necklaces, a ring in guilloché yellow gold and a jewellery watch.

Taking pride of place is the Magic Alhambra long necklace in guilloché yellow gold. What’s special about the necklace is the interplays of dazzling lines in the motif. Under the expert hands of the Maison’s craftsmen, the depth of the “striations and their sun-shaped pattern bring a subtle relief effect to the surface, creating an intense circulation of light.”
There’s even a new Vintage Alhambra ring in yellow gold that goes perfectly with this necklace.

One other notable addition is the employment of blue agate — first appeared in the collection in 1989 — with yellow gold that brings to mind the subtle blue hue of twilight that straddles the magical moment between day and night.
Other highlights include the Chalcedony stone with white gold, as well as grey mother- of-pearl with rose gold.

Last but not least, the Sweet Alhambra jewellery watch is a masterpiece with its guilloché dial, and bracelet in guilloché rose gold and pink mother-of-pearl. This is the first time that pink mother-of-pearl is used in the Alhambra collection, and for this new timepiece, they’re carefully matched before delicately polished to a beautiful shine.
