As Chanel’s horlogerie turns 30, the French haute couture maison launched another chapter to their Gabrielle video series to mark this anniversary in their watchmaking journey. BAZAAR has exclusively gotten our hands on the short film that illustrates how the house has touched on every metier contributing to the art of Fine Watchmaking. The film also talks about how each timepiece takes inspiration from Gabrielle Chanel and how she was very much a woman in the present who lives for the moment.
“Just like the ephemeral, nothing lasts longer than the present” Gabrielle loved to say. These complex Chanel timepieces constantly remind us of the unstoppable march of time and how fleeting every moment is, telling us to be present in the moment before it slips away from our grasp. On the flip side, Chanel’s approach to their timepieces is a timeless one that transcends all versions of the present and well into the future.
BAZAAR is one of the firsts to release this exclusive look inside Chanel.
