Rolex Launches ‘Perpetual Music’ Concerts To Support Artists Amid The Pandemic

Music lovers will be glad to know that Swiss luxury watchmaker Rolex has launched a meaningful initiative to support musicians and singers affected by the ongoing pandemic. Taking its name from the Perpetual inscription found on every Rolex Oyster that embodies the maison's unrivaled reputation and pursuit of quality and excellence—three Rolex Perpetual Music concerts will take place in Italy, Germany and France from August 21 to early September.
The star-studded concerts will see opening performances by Rolex ambassadors—Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, Mexican tenor Rolando Villazón, and the Bulgarian-Swiss operatic soprano Sonya Yoncheva—with singers and musicians they have personally selected, who will then perform solo or in various ensembles. Established French violinist and supporter of the initiative, Renaud Capuçon, is also set to participate in the Parisian leg of the event.

“During these difficult times, when musicians have suffered both the loss of audience and income, our aim is to provide them the opportunity to perform with renowned artists at prestigious venues with the finest acoustics,” said Arnaud Boetsch, Rolex Director of Communication & Image in a statement. "Significantly, this gift of time and exposure is in keeping with the company’s pursuit of excellence and its long-term commitment to foster the work of those who aim to reach the pinnacle of their profession."
The concerts will be streamed live on medici.tv and made available in over 180 countries until the end of October.
