Met Gala 2023: Florence Pugh Shaved Her Head For A Towering Headpiece
This look is going down in fashion history.
Florence Pugh has made a glamorous entrance at the 2023 Met Gala.
Accompanying Valentino creative director Pier Paolo Piccioli, the movie star showed up at the A-list event—where guests are honoring this year's theme of "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty"—wearing a dramatic ensemble by the Italian fashion house.

Her look was comprised of an elegant white ball gown featuring a plunging neckline and backless feature, both of which were held together by a dainty black tulle bow. The gown had an extremely long train that cascaded down the Metropolitan Museum of Art's steps.

But, her look didn't stop there. Pugh also wore a towering headpiece topped with black feathers, plus plenty of diamond jewelry from Tiffany & Co.
Pugh's Met Gala look rounds out a tour de style that she has embarked on since promoting her latest film, A Good Person.

During the March premiere, she wore a black-and-white gown from Valentino's pre-fall 2023 collection. The silk cady dress was a playful take on black-tie attire; the bead-embellished, collared bodice prominently displayed a literal black tie, which coordinated with the body-hugging black maxi skirt.
This year's Gala pays homage to the life and legacy of the late Chanel creative director.
The Costume Institute describes the spring 2023 exhibition as an exploration of "the work of Karl Lagerfeld. Focusing on the designer’s stylistic vocabulary as expressed in aesthetic themes that appear time and again in his fashions from the 1950s to his final collection in 2019, the show will spotlight the German-born designer’s unique working methodology."
The exhibition will additionally showcase about 150 of Lagerfeld's designs, as well as some of his sketches, both of which "underscore his complex creative process and the collaborative relationships with his premières, or head seamstresses. Lagerfeld’s fluid lines united his designs for Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, and his eponymous label, Karl Lagerfeld, creating a diverse and prolific body of work unparalleled in the history of fashion."
